Frequently Asked Questions
Before your appointment
Do you take walk-in client appointments?
Due to the length of time it takes to digitally draw a tattoo design — and in order to prevent interruptions during clients’ scheduled appointments — I do not take walk-ins. Smaller pieces (such as finger tattoos or words/script) or my pre-drawn Flash Designs are very quick to prepare for, and usually result in sooner appointment times.
What are Flash Designs?
Flash designs are tattoos that I have already drawn and therefore do not require time to design if they are selected. For this reason, these appointments can be scheduled more quickly — in a flash! As an artist, it is always flattering to have something that I have drawn selected by a client.
Can I get a tattoo that I saw on someone else?
I really discourage clients from getting copies of other people's tattoos because I respect the intellectual property of the original artist and don't want to steal the work they spent hours drawing. I can, however, take inspiration from an existing design, making changes to ensure it is unique for you!
What forms of payment are accepted here?
Tattoo Leroux uses Stripe for deposits and bookings. To pay the rest of your balance after your tattoo is complete, Venmo, cash and credit cards are accepted. Please note, there is an additional processing fee added to transactions via credit card.
During your appointment
What should I bring to my appointment?
The only required item to bring is a Driver's License or form of ID to prove that you are over 18 years old. However, the following items will enhance your tattoo experience and are strongly recommended for your appointment: comfortable clothing (that will allow for the area of your skin to be exposed for the tattoo), water bottle, snacks (if desired), phone/headphones (music will be played at the studio but you can always opt for your own!)
Can I change the size and location of my tattoo once I get to my appointment?
Absolutely! Once you arrive for your appointment, your design gets printed on to a stencil with temporary purple ink, like a stamp. We can change the size and easily change its position so that you can see it as many times as you desire. No need to apologize for this step, this is part of the fun and a very important step in making sure you love your new tattoo!
Are tattoos painful?
It depends on your pain tolerance and the area of your body that we are tattooing. More sensitive areas of the body tend to be: ankles and feet, area surrounding knees and elbows, ribs and chest, scalp and face. If you are concerned about being in pain, please consider the use of over-the-counter numbing creams (applied 30 minutes to an hour before your appointment), or Acetaminophen/Tylenol (NOT Ibuprofen/Advil or Aspirin as this may increase bleeding during and after your tattoo).
After your appointment
Aftercare of your tattoo is so important for your tattoo’s final look. If there are spots on your tattoo that “lifted” during the healing process, please reach out to your artist to see if a touch-up is needed. These touch-up appointments will be considered two weeks after your original appointment at the earliest.
What is the policy on tattoo touch-ups?
